Sir Lenny Henry receives Freedom of the City of London in recognition of his contribution to entertainment and charity

The actor, 66, attended a ceremony at the Guildhall in the capital after being nominated by Lord Mayor Alastair King.



Sir Lenny Henry was awarded the Freedom of the City of London for his contributions to entertainment and charity. He co-founded Comic Relief in 1985, raising over £1 billion, and has had a five-decade career in comedy and theater. Henry was knighted in 2015 for his services to drama and charity.
